Baked Camembert and Roasted Garlic Tartine

If you feel the need for something sinful but which won’t break the bank here’s a quick guide to cheese heaven.


1 camembert, sourdough bread, 1 sprig of fresh thyme, drizzle of olive oil and 1 bulb of roasted garlic (


Prepare the roasted garlic. While it’s cooking, remove the camembert from its box and wrapping paper. Wet the bottom of the box (this should be wooden) with water and place the cheese back in the bottom half. Score the top of the cheese with a sharp knife. Sprinkle with the fresh thyme and a bit of olive oil.

As the garlic is removed from the oven place the camembert in its place and bake it for approximately 15 min.

In a bowl, peel the roast garlic and mash it with a bit of olive oil. Season if needed.

Cut thick slices of the sourdough bread and toast it. Spread the garlic paste on the bread.

Dunk the garlic tartines in the melted cheese. Particularly delicious with a good glass of red wine!
